Beavers Bend - Day 2

We were up & at them this morning. We were told to be at Camp Headquarters by 9:30ish. We actually slept in & didn't get up until a little after 8:30, I was SOOOOOO very proud of the boys for actually doing this. We were greeted by sweet Blake & he was ready for a bike ride.

Then we were off to breakfast. Mom had made homemade biscuits, gravy & bacon. YUMMY!!!!

We made a little time for throwing the football & then we were off to the "beach".

Everyone was excited about soaking up some rays & floating in the swimming hole until we discovered the water was FREEZING.

Then Dad decided he & Mom would take 3 of the 4 boys canoeing.

Here they are digging for paddles & life jackets.

The canoe was made of aluminum & already HOT!!! Then they had to figure out how to get everyone in without tumping it over before they even started.

They finally were all in & situated & ready for take-off. Mom was telling everyone to be still & stop rocking the canoe (no one was moving). Susan & I could not stop laughing at her & then she started saying "where is an uncle or a Daddy, why am I going?". We just stood there waving good-bye & giggling.

Then they were finally off.

While they canoed Rob & Beau made a run for the local Wal*Mart & we soaked in some rays. Notice we are on our rafts on the edge of the beach......CLASSY!!! It was just too cold to go in any further. Tha was on her very nice raft in the water being held still by her very sweet husband & little Barrett seemed to LOVE the water & sand.

After lunch all the boys headed in for a nap so Mom, Susan & I took advantage of some free time & headed back to the water with our rafts & book in hand. Mom ended up being the only one that read & then she surprised us with snow-cones. They were DELICIOUS & just what we needed.

After the boys woke up they all went for a bike ride. (Rob & I didn't get to bring our bikes....they didn't fit)

Can you see the sweat ring on Caleb? Did I mention it was HOT????

Caleb LOVES his Uncle Beau. When Beau was wearing all shirts with no sleeves Caleb wanted to do the same. Of course only Beau knew how to cut the sleeves out correctly.

Cade also needed a little snuggle from his Uncle Beau.

The rest of the night was spent at the main headquarters eating dinner & playing outside.
